   THE PROBLEM

Building financial security alone is difficult.

A person surrounded by five disconnected needs: save, plan, borrow, repay and grow, each link broken
  • Save

    Hard to stay consistent.

  • Plan

    No clear long-term plan.

  • Repay

Keeping up with repayments can be stressful.

  • Borrow

Access to capital is not always simple or affordable.

  • Grow

Growing a business takes more than just capital.

Different needs. Disconnected solutions.

   BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE

The cooperative model is powerful. The infrastructure can be better.

Traditional

Modern

  • Manual recordsConnected records
  • Fragmented informationDigital member experience
  • Slow processesStructured workflows
  • Limited visibilityFinancial visibility
  • Administrative burdenBetter governance

The opportunity is not to replace the cooperative model. It is to give it better infrastructure.

 FINANCIAL TRUTH

Trust is built into the system.

What members see is grounded in what actually happened financially.

  1. Step 01

    Authorised action

A member or officer acts within their permissions.

  2. Step 02

    Financial event

The action becomes a recorded financial event.

  3. Step 03

    Audit trail

Who did what, when, and what changed.

  4. Step 04

    Reconciled balance

Events and balances agree. What you see reflects what happened.

  • Traceable transactions

Every confirmed transaction is traceable from source to balance.

  • Complete audit trail

Who did what, when, and what changed.

  • No direct balance editing

Balances change only through valid financial events and approved workflows.

  • Controlled reversals

Errors are corrected through auditable processes, not manual adjustments.

  • Reconciled balances

Every total is accurate and explainable.

  • Strict data isolation

Each cooperative's records are private and visible only to authorised users.

These are the rules CooperAid is built to enforce. Member access is coming soon.

Questions

Before you begin.

7 answers

01Does creating a CooperAid account make me a member?

No. Creating an account does not automatically make anyone a cooperative member. You apply to join a cooperative, and that cooperative's administrators review the application under its own admission policy.

02What membership statuses are there?

Active member (full access to cooperative services), pending approval (application under review), not a member (account exists, no membership), suspended (temporarily restricted) and inactive (membership ended under cooperative policy).

03How is a new cooperative established?

An organiser creates an account, starts a cooperative registration, provides the cooperative's information, configures its policies for membership, contributions, shares, savings, loans and governance, invites members, then activates operations.

04Does every cooperative follow the same rules?

No. Each cooperative is independent and defines its own membership, contribution, share, savings, loan and governance policies. Its members and financial records stay isolated from every other cooperative.

05How do shares work?

Under the standard starting policy, one complete share represents ₦10,000 and members own complete shares only. Contributions below that amount wait in the share wallet until they reach it. A cooperative can configure its own policy.

06Can I get a loan?

Loan access is policy-driven. Eligibility considers membership, shares, savings, obligations, repayment history, guarantors and collateral, and every request follows an authorised review and approval workflow. Nothing on this page is an offer of credit.

07Is CooperAid available now?

CooperAid member access is coming soon. Register your interest to join or to start a cooperative, and we will contact you when it opens. This website does not take payments or open accounts.
